I’m about the same age as Waters’s daughter Fanny Singer and there was a shared sensibility during this 1990s era in California kitchens—with similar ingredients and inspirations. I wrote about this on my Substack Innere in Straight from My Mom’s ’90s Kitchen with an edit of distinctly 90s kitchen tools.
