Remodelista Reconnaissance: A Painted Vase in a Shelter Island Cottage

There are many things that appeal to us about the powder room in A Shelter Island Holiday Rental Where Everything Is for Sale. They are as follows: 1. the shiplap walls, 2. the vintage-y latrine with wood seat, 3. the nautical rope loo roll holder, and 4. the handy niche for reading material. And, last but not least, 5: the painted vase adorned with little fish and holding a clutch of flowers. Where to find something similar, we wondered? Read on…
The Sighting
Above: In a former boat house on Shelter Island redone (and available for rent), many of the fittings are from DWR. Not this vase, however: Alexa reports it’s a midcentury vase by Italian ceramicists Bitossi. Similar Bitossi numbers (like this one) can be found online, or….
